Out and About in Périgord - Limeuil
Today, in honor of my dad, I spent the afternoon doing two things he loved to do and we loved to do together - I took a beautiful drive and then walked around a beautiful place.
If you're visiting the Périgord Noir, Limeuil while maybe not a 100% Must See, is a treasure. It's another hillside bastide village, but its location at the confluence of two significant Périgord rivers makes it special, as does the unique hilltop gardens.
In an effort to bring the Périgord more to life for you, I'm embarking on a mission to get better at filming some of the lovely places I am privileged to experience in the hope you will experience them a little better and be inspired to experience them in person!
I am not good at this. But, I'll get better! I also have asthma, so bear with me on the uphill climbs! I've muted some, but hate to edit out all the beautiful birdsong.
With that, allow me to share Limeuil with you!
First up, a lovely little garden by the car park.
From there, your first impression of Limeuil is the lovely promenade - lively with tourists sipping wine or coffee at the café tables in summer, but quiet on a rainy day in early spring.
Then it's up and up, passing beautiful village houses, stone walls, and gardens.

Finally, I met some unexpected residents of the dense little village...
I hope you enjoyed today's tour of Limeuil! More videos on my YouTube channel:
