Dordogne Plant Sale! And an upcoming voyage...

Today was the massive plant sale/exchange in a nearby village - so fun!  My good friend Anne graciously invited me along and we both tried very hard not to lose our minds.  Everything was so beautiful!

As someone who is only here part time, I have to be very intentional about plants.  So, I was able to rein myself in, but just barely.  The weather had cleared from the storm of last night, the air was balmy, and eye-popping color was just everywhere begging to be taken home.

Anne found all the best plants, even the the daisies I would have snatched if she hadn't spotted them first.  And then an afternoon spent reorganizing her beautiful garden to incorporate her new treasures and let go of what is not working in her garden (as a recipient of her cast-offs, I say Merci!).

A while into wandering about, the bells began to ring...

And then, after a successful outing, and a little snack in the village, we came home and planted our colorful finds.

Tomorrow I'm catching a train to Arcachon on the Atlantic coast.  So excited!  It's not the Périgord, but I'll be blogging anyway!
