Snax with a Friend
| Apèros |
One of the reasons to deep dive into spending time in the Pèrigord is slowing down to enjoy simple pleasures - sometimes easier said than done.
Tonight a dear neighbor and friend was to come by for apèros - simple snacks - usually served between 6-8PM. It rained all day, drenching everyone's plants (and probably the Sunday walking group), and then the sun came out about an hour before we got together.
I realized too late that the holiday weekend meant that I missed the boulangerie for a baguette and even the always trusty supermarché was shut. Lucky I had thought to pick up a couple of things at yesterday's market!Evening
And it was lovely. My dear friend and neighbor crossed the street with her trusty canine companion, we sipped rosé and snacked on yummy olives and the freshest strawberries while catching up and making plans for future dinners and upcoming lunches. Always Discuss Food over Food is my motto.
And she even brought me the last 3 buds from her beautiful rosebush.
