Market Day May 6

Saturday market tomatoes
It's Market Day as the tourist season, and the temperature, heats up.

Claude always has something you need

Things are hopping in our little bastide village.  A beloved hotel, closed by COVID, has been bought by young new owners and reopened.  New owners also are renovating one of the restaurants facing La Halle, and a much anticipated (at least by me) bookshop seems to be inching toward opening its doors as well.

Couples with strollers are peering into the real estate offices and the bistro tables once again line the pedestrian alley.  Laughter echoes in the warmth of the afternoon.  I enjoyed a rosé on the terrace of friends who plotted with me how to get an unimaginably heavy piano saved only to have it find another home (all good).

The amazing and lovely olive guy!

Now the laundry is out drying and a day of overdue chores awaits tomorrow.  Seems like a good trade-off.

World's best strawberries.  True story.
