Just a Tuesday - after VE Day

Crazy poppies and roses

Today was quiet. The weather was iffy - lots of showers and a little wind.  Yesterday was a holiday with similar weather and uneven conviction to the ceremonies of the time.

And this is how it goes here, I found myself by the side of the street yesterday just entranced by the roses and poppies that are absolutely breathtaking this year.  We all ended up chatting for almost an hour.  Watching lizards and bumblebees as they did their work.  Then, newly informed, I made my way to a nearby hamlet that was having a "yard sale" and scored a bedside table for our guest  room.  

Tonight I offer the birdsong we enjoy each evening on our street.
